Collaborations_________________
Okay, while the visualisation might actually look pretty simple this is a pretty big and complex idea:
Collaborations are pieces of art created by more then 1 artist.
The example I used in my visualisation is a journalskin designed by =
sinthux and coded by me.
The problem however is, deviantART doesn't support collaborations.
And I believe they should

The reason is pretty simple:
it's a great concept.2 artists working together one 1 piece of art, enriching each other and grow artistically.
It's basically everything deviantART stands for.
How it would work:____________________
1 of the collaborators submits the
collaboration and adds the collaborators.
The collaborators receive a notification of this and approve it.
The collaboration shows up in the gallery of EACH collaborator en they all receive notifications
about comments and favs posted on their collaboration.
Apart from that, the collaboration is treated exactly the same as any other deviation.
( and shows up in the same galleries as well )
edit: added a notification that's being send when you're added to a collaboration. To become a collaborator you simply click "approve"

I was going for something like is already in the film gallery (example), but extended of course, with editable roles, and multiple artist statements. Here was my version:
The idea is that collaborative deviations would be shared amongst the authors, thereby making it easier to discuss and recieve feedback about their work, while at the same time getting rid of redundant deviations, favourites, views, and comments.
Possible implementation:
- There would be the ability to attach different authors and their avatars, with editable contributions (such as author, model, animator, developer, etc).
- There would be a central artist statement.
- Each author would be given the opportunity to give their own input, like the blue bubbles on film submissions. These would be accompanied by the contributor's avatar, and their role in producing the work.
- If an author has a deviation attributed to them, they would be given the opportunity to accept the attribution, and to add a statement if they wish. At this point the deviation would appear in their gallery.
- Any statistics, for example views, downloads, favourites, critiques, DDs, etc. would be attributed to all authors.
- Any activity or comments would appear in each deviant's message inbox.
Collaboration is an important part of any creative pursuit. Formalising the process would encourage others to try it out, and help to bring the whole community together. Good luck with the idea!
